Brightspeed Expands in Pennsylvania
Brightspeed has connected over 131,000 homes and businesses in Pennsylvania to its fiber-based broadband service, with plans to extend coverage to more than 190,000 locations across the state. This expansion is part of its multi-billion-dollar initiative to bring fiber to over 4 million locations across 20 states.
Comcast Strengthens Network in Hagerstown, MD
Comcast is extending broadband access to 50,000 homes and businesses in the Hagerstown, MD, area, covering the city and nearby communities such as Cavetown, Fairplay, and Williamsport. The rollout will take place in phases, bringing Xfinity and Comcast Business services to thousands of new addresses.
Highline Boosts Fiber in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
Highline is ramping up its broadband expansion in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, adding 1,400 miles of new fiber optic cable to connect 14,000 more homes and businesses. Residents in Marquette, Iron, Schoolcraft, Luce, Mackinac, and Chippewa counties will soon have access to internet speeds up to 2Gbps. Construction begins in June and is expected to wrap up by November.
With additional investments from LiveOak Fiber, Lumos, Optimum, Shentel, and Vero Fiber, broadband access continues to grow nationwide, bridging the digital divide in more communities.
