Trevor Lawrence Shuts Down Trade Rumors: ‘I’m Not Going to Pittsburgh’

Last week, speculation surfaced that the Pittsburgh Steelers had inquired about a potential trade for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. However, both teams quickly dismissed the rumors, and now, Lawrence himself is putting any doubts to rest.

In a Monday interview with Kay Adams, Lawrence made it crystal clear: he’s not leaving Jacksonville.

Lawrence’s Response to the Rumors

The Jaguars star quarterback admitted he initially didn’t see the reports but was alerted by his agent.

“That’s funny, I didn’t really see anything,” Lawrence said. “My agent texted me and was like, ‘Hey, this is a…’ — and then of course I saw it after he texted me. I wouldn’t say your heart drops, but you’re kind of like, ‘What?’”

Once he realized what was being reported, Lawrence was quick to shut it down.

“I have a no-trade clause in my contract, so I would know about it if I was getting traded or if that was something that was going to happen. I’d have to be on board with it — which I’m not.”

The former No. 1 overall pick made his stance clear:

“I’m happy here in Jacksonville. We want to win a Super Bowl here, and I think we can do that. I don’t want to leave Jacksonville. So, I’m happy here, obviously. I’m not going to Pittsburgh.”

Jaguars Front Office Uncertainty

Adding to the confusion, Jacksonville is currently without a General Manager, which may have contributed to the uncertainty. Lawrence’s agent even reached out to media sources to verify what was happening.

With Lawrence fully committed to Jacksonville, the Jaguars can put these rumors behind them and focus on building a championship-caliber team.
