Colin Jost shares that Scarlett Johansson was “truly shocked” by the risqué jokes he made about her during his time on SNL.
During a December 2024 episode of “Saturday Night Live,” Colin Jost and Michael Che took part in their classic “Weekend Update” joke swap, where they each read jokes written by the other without any prior knowledge of the content. One of the jokes, written by Che, made a bold and risqué reference to Jost’s wife, Scarlett Johansson, comparing her postpartum figure to a “roast beef sandwich.”
Though Johansson had been given a heads-up that a joke about her might be coming, she was still caught off guard by its boldness. Later, Jost admitted during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that the joke might have landed him in some hot water.
The couple, who began dating in 2017, tied the knot in 2020 and share a son named Cosmo. Johansson is often uneasy watching Jost’s live performances on “SNL,” knowing his humor can take unexpected turns.
