The Chicago Bears have interviewed Bo Hardegree for the offensive coordinator position.
On Monday, a source familiar with the situation confirmed that Bo Hardegree, who served as the Raiders’ interim offensive coordinator for the final nine games of the season, will not be returning. This means Pierce will be building his offensive staff from scratch, as the Raiders have also allowed their offensive assistants to explore opportunities with other teams.
The search for a new offensive coordinator began Monday, with the Raiders requesting permission to interview Zac Robinson from the Rams. Robinson has been part of the Rams’ coaching staff since 2019 and recently served as their pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. The team also plans to interview Dan Pitcher, the Bengals’ quarterbacks coach.
Robinson, a former Oklahoma State quarterback, played three seasons in the NFL with the Patriots, Seahawks, Lions, and Bengals. Before joining the Rams, the 37-year-old worked as a senior analyst at Pro Football Focus, where he specialized in evaluating both pro and college quarterbacks.
As for Pitcher, he’s been with the Bengals since 2016 and is seen as a strong internal candidate to step into Cincinnati’s offensive coordinator role, recently vacated by Brian Callahan, who was hired as the Titans’ head coach on Monday. However, Pitcher would have the chance to take on play-calling duties in Las Vegas—something he wouldn’t do in Cincinnati, where head coach Zac Taylor handles the play-calling responsibilities.
Pitcher first broke into the NFL coaching ranks under former Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, who also served as a consultant to Pierce during his interim stint leading the Raiders. Lewis is expected to remain on Pierce’s staff in a yet-to-be-determined role.
Bo Hardegree is an American football coach with extensive experience in the NFL.
He is currently the quarterbacks coach for the Tennessee Titans, a position he took on in February 2024. Before joining the Titans, Hardegree held several key roles across various teams in the league:
- Interim Offensive Coordinator – He served as the interim offensive coordinator for the Las Vegas Raiders during the latter half of the 2023 season after changes in the coaching staff.
- Quarterbacks Coach – Hardegree has also worked as a quarterbacks coach for teams like the Miami Dolphins and contributed in various offensive coaching capacities.
- Coaching Background – His career includes working with high-profile offensive minds, such as Adam Gase, under whom he served in multiple coaching roles during Gase’s head coaching tenures.
Bo Hardegree played college football as a quarterback at the University of Tennessee, where he was known for his leadership and understanding of the game. His coaching style emphasizes quarterback development and offensive scheme execution, making him a sought-after candidate for various coaching roles in the NFL.
