Dana White Condemns UFC Fighter for Controversial Comments
UFC President Dana White has strongly criticized American fighter Bryce Mitchell after the 30-year-old made antisemitic, homophobic, and transphobic remarks during a podcast, where he also expressed praise for Adolf Hitler.
White, visibly frustrated while addressing reporters, did not hold back in his response to Mitchell’s comments.
“I’ve heard a lot of dumb and ignorant sh*t in my day, but this one is probably the worst,” White said. “When you talk about Hitler, you’re talking about a man responsible for the deaths of six million Jews and an attempted genocide. He was one of the most disgusting and evil human beings to ever walk the Earth, and anyone trying to defend him is a complete moron.”
He further criticized social media for giving a platform to individuals with extreme and offensive views. “That’s the problem with the internet. It provides a voice for a lot of dumb and ignorant people,” White remarked.
Despite his strong condemnation, White confirmed that Mitchell would not face any penalties from the UFC, citing free speech protections. “That’s the beauty of this business—for everyone who despises Bryce Mitchell, they get the chance to watch him potentially get his ass whooped on global television,” he added.
Mitchell, who has been competing in the UFC since 2018 and secured a victory in his last fight, made these remarks during the debut episode of his new podcast. In an extended rant, the fighter—nicknamed “Thug Nasty”—claimed Hitler was a “good guy” and denied the Holocaust, arguing that his beliefs were based on independent research rather than what he called “public education indoctrination.”
“I honestly think Hitler was a good guy before he got hooked on meth. Before that, he’s someone I’d have gone fishing with,” Mitchell stated.
At least one of his sponsors, a clothing brand known as The Regenaissance, has already cut ties with him over his remarks.
“His comments do not reflect the values of The Regenaissance in any way. Due to the nature of these statements, we can no longer be affiliated with him,” said the brand’s founder, Ryan Griggs, in a statement.
